3 questions to move you towards your ideal day
1. What would your ideal day look like?
Maybe one activity comes to mind quickly and clearly, perhaps two or three, while other parts of the day might be blurry.
What would you do? Who would you see? How would you feel? Try to see your day from waking to sleeping as if a film in your mind’s eye on fast-forward.
If it’s too big a challenge to see the whole day clearly, think back to all the things that have left you feeling fresh, energised and positive.
2. What do you long for?
It can be simple or complex. It does not have to involve huge expenses, dramatic flights across the Atlantic or appearing on TV, or maybe it does.
It could be something rewarding and generous, whether to others or yourself.
It may involve time outside, time for cooking, meeting friends, a bike ride, a coffee.
Think of your favourite memories; what was happening? Where were you? Who was there?
3. How does it compare to today? To yesterday? And to a “normal” day?
Where are the moments for nurture, for fun, fulfilment and where are the blocks, the energy drains, the stressors?
What action can you take to move towards that dream day?
Move towards it.
